Navis is being built by Savanna Avia together with a practising accountant. It is a general accounting system in its own right. For operators, flight schools and maintenance organisations it also understands what an aeroplane costs to run — because it sits beside the records that already know.
General accounting applies to aviation. Aviation accounting applies to nothing else. So the ledger is built general — chart of accounts, journals, trial balance, statements — and aviation plugs into it. The same engine can serve a business with no aeroplanes at all.
A maintenance cost is not just an expense line. It belongs to a tail, often to a specific engine, and usually to a work order. Navis is being built so that a cost recorded in WingsPath appears in the ledger against the right asset, without anyone typing it twice.
KRA compliance, withholding tax, import and export duty — specified by a practising accountant, not inferred from documentation. Aviation is cross-border, so the international treatment matters as much as the domestic one.
A firm keeping books for several clients needs each set kept apart. Separation is a design requirement here, not a setting — and it is tested by trying to break it before any real client is onboarded.
The foundation exists and development is under way. Nothing here is live and nothing is being sold yet. We would rather say that plainly than describe a product that is not finished.
